Green Planet Initiative (GPI) has undertaken a community-led tree plantation drive in the remote coastal area of South Bedkashi Union, Koyra Upazila, Khulna. The initiative was led by our local member, M. Aslam Uddin, with the active involvement of the local team. Locally suitable species—including coconut, mango and wood apple—were planted to contribute to a greener and more resilient coastal community. For us, the initiative does not end with planting. The local team will regularly monitor and care for the saplings, helping them grow into mature trees that can provide fruit, shade and environmental benefits for the community.

Green Planet Initiative - GPI was delighted to join the Dept. of Civil Engineering, United International University for a seminar on “𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲-𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱.” During the session, GPI’s Executive Director and Director of Research engaged senior Civil Engineering students in a discussion on the environmental and health impacts of single-use plastics, practical solutions, and the role of young professionals in advancing circularity and sustainable waste management.
